NSSF February 2026 Update: Preparing Payroll Before the Next Tier Shift

February 2026 brought another NSSF tier update. Employers who finalize January and February in the same spreadsheet template often apply the wrong ceiling to one of the months.

Versioned payroll periods

World Ledgers selects NSSF logic from the payroll year and month being processed. That means a January 2026 slip and a February 2026 slip can correctly use different tier rules without rewriting history.

Month-end controls

• Lock the payroll period before computing
• Compare NSSF totals to the prior month for variance
• Export bank and statutory summaries after finalize
• Keep P9 annual aggregation based on stored monthly tax figures
